Event Description |
BCP Council is offering a programme of free interactive online Care Certificate sessions for new adult social care staff - see Event Outcomes below for a list of available sessions.
The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards defining the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sector. It's made up of 15 minimum standards, which should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme.
This half day session covers the following:
• UNDERSTAND YOUR ROLE • PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT • DUTY OF CARE • HANDLING INFORMATION
This interactive session is offered via Zoom and can be accessed from an online device at work or from home - ideally a desktop computer, laptop or tablet
The following is required to participate fully in this session:
• An online device (inc webcam/speakers/microphone/headset) plus a reliable wi-fi connection• Access to Zoom • A quiet area and notebook & pen • Delegate name and e-mail address must be provided (work or personal) at the time of booking.
ACCESSING THE TRAINING A Zoom meeting link will be e-mailed directly to the delegate to enable them to join the session. If a link e-mail hasn't been received before the day of the course, it might be in the e-mail junk folder. Contact sctraining@bcpcouncil.gov.uk if no e-mail is found
Delegates will need to click on the e-mailed link at least 15 mins prior to the start time so the course can begin promptly. The session will be locked after the course has started so latecomers will not be able to join.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If a delegate does not have the necessary IT equipment, has technical issues, is late logging on or is unable to join on the day, they will need to rebook on a future date.
Electronic handouts will be e-mailed to delegates after each session. There will be a requirement for care managers to oversee completion of handouts and arrange workplace observations
Please read all the attachments - they provide important information such as how to use Zoom and BCP Council's e-learning online protocol |
