Event Description **THIS EVENT IS FOR ASC EXTERNAL (INDEPENDANT, VOLUNTARY, PRIVATE SECTOR) CARE PROVIDERS IN THE BCP COUNCIL AREA ONLY**

Course Aim: A practical session to learn and demonstrate correct hand washing and donning and doffing of PPE (personal protective equipment) in line with latest PHE guidelines. To pass the course the delegate will need to successfully complete a competency assessment carried out by the trainer.

All delegates must have the following to attend the course (the trainer will turn delegates away if they do not have all the equipment):
2 pairs of gloves
2 Disposable aprons
2 Fluid resistant surgical masks
1 Eye protection (goggles or full face visor)
A hair tie if they have long hair & hair pin if they have a fringe

This course will be delivered via Zoom. A Zoom training link email will be sent out to confirmed delegates a few days before the course starts. If they have not received the Zoom training link email before 30 minutes of the advertised start time please contact sctraining@bcpcouncil.gov.uk

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
* It's recommended that you complete your normal Infection Control course before attending this Donning and Doffing training. However, if you do not have a regular infection control offer in your workplace, then please be advised that there is a short 30 minute e-learning course by SCIE which can be found at https://www.scie.org.uk/e-learning/infection-control
* The 3 attachments provide important information for delegates accessing this training and are helpful to read prior to booking.
* Due to training time constraints and our e-learning training protocol (attached) if a delegate does not have the necessary PPE equipment to participate fully or is late logging on to a session, they will be unable to join and will need to rebook on a future date. 
Event Outcomes Explain the difference between alcohol gel and soap and water.
Explain the importance of adequate hydration when wearing PPE.
Demonstrate correct hand washing procedure.
Demonstrate the correct steps for putting on PPE.
Demonstrate the correct steps for removing PPE.
