Event Description This course will provide the knowledge required by all those who work in Early Years settings of their safeguarding roles and responsibilities towards those in their care, especially regarding the signs and symptoms of abuse, the legal framework and making a referral.

This course is open to registered childminders, practitioners working in group settings across BCP and EYFS staff working in BCP schools.

This is a 2-part course: session one is pre-recorded and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to watch at a time that suits you. You will also receive a Pre-course workbook, it is essential that you complete the relevant sections of the workbook in advance. The workbook contains additional safeguarding information and activities that will support your learning. It will be used for both the recorded session and the virtual/face to face training session. Please have your workbook open on your device when you are watching the recording. If this is not possible, you will need to complete your workbook after watching the recording.

You can complete the questions online, although this may result in formatting changes, or you can use pen and paper. You need to have your completed workbook available during session 2. Please ensure that you set aside enough time to complete both. Failure to do so will result in you not receiving your certificate.

The closing date for bookings is one week before the second session. The workbook, link to watch the recording and joining link will be sent out after your place has been confirmed on CPD from the email

Courses will be cancelled on the closing date if bookings are below the minimum numbers required (20)

Validity: must be refreshed at least every three years (if you are from a school run provision, this will be every two years)
