Event Description |
This event is an interactive online event for staff who have either strategic or management responsibility for safeguarding in their organisation and require a more in depth understanding of the safeguarding adults procedures. • Day care managers and assistant managers • Domiciliary care managers and assistant managers • Residential care managers and assistant managers • Organisations Designated Safeguarding Lead These workshops are NOT for Adult Social Care managers who oversee safeguarding enquiries or manage Safeguarding Adult Practitioners (SAP).
This course is designed to meet the Bournemouth University National Competency Framework for Safeguarding Adults competencies 7 to 13 (Staff Group B) and the CQC KLOES Safe and Well led.
Course aim: To understand your legal responsibilities and the local Safeguarding Adult policy and procedures to enable you to manage safeguarding concerns for adults at risk within your job role.
PRE-REQUISITE: Attended either BCP Council Safeguarding Awareness or Refresher in the last 3 years or an equivalent course that meets the Bournemouth University National Competency Framework for Safeguarding Adults competencies 1 to 6.
This course will be delivered via MS Teams. A MS Teams training link email will be sent out to confirmed delegates a few days before the course starts. The link will be emailed to the email address that is on their CPD Online account. If the link needs to be emailed to a different email address, please include this in the ‘special requirements' box when requesting a place.
If confirmed delegates have not received the MS Teams training link email before 30 minutes of the advertised start time, please contact sctraining@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
IMPORTANT BOOKING AND CANCELLATION INFORMATION:
*If your organisation's terms of payment require a purchase order, please enter the PO number in the box marked ‘Special requirements' when making your booking. *Due to training time constraints and our e-learning training protocol (attached) confirmed delegates need to allow enough time (at least 15 mins) to log on to MS Teams to be ready for the course to start promptly at the published start time, when the session will be locked. Late arrivals and delegates that do not have the necessary IT equipment to participate fully, will not be able to join the session and their space will be charged for. They will need to rebook on a future date. *We will charge a full course fee for any confirmed delegate who gives less than seven calendar days' notice of a cancellation, or who does not attend on the day of the course. |
Event Outcomes |
Overview of Workshop Examine tools and approaches to managing risks including Multi- Agency Risk Management (MARM) meetings. Awareness of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010 when managing risks. Recognise actions that should be taken to protect adults at risk experiencing wilful neglect

The course fee for non-Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council staff is £30 per delegate per event.
