Event Description |
** PLEASE NOTE THIS ONE DAY PRACTICAL SESSION IS A FACE TO FACE EVENT **
ONLY BOOK ON THIS SESSION ONCE YOU HAVE ATTENDED THE HALF DAY (INTERACTIVE/ONLINE) THEORY SESSION
This one-day practical course builds on the half day theory session. It aims to ensure that staff have appropriate skills in moving and assisting people, enabling them to meet legal responsibilities in relation to Manual Handling Regulations.
Please can delegates:
* Ensure you have attended the half day interactive/online theory session * Comply with current Covid-19 advice - see attached training protocol * Complete the pre-training health questionnaire - a link to the form will be sent prior the course * Observe attached guidance regarding suitable clothing * Bring food and refreshments for the day
An annual refresher is recommended |
Event Outcomes |
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
* Apply ergonomic risk assessments before carrying out any assisting operations
* Identify the need for appropriate communication as a base of dignified care
* Recognise the importance of adopting correct posture for assisting in everyday activities
* Demonstrate an understanding and consideration of the individual needs and capability, ability to promote independence
* Undertake moving and assisting tasks safely and in accordance with organisational policies and procedures |
