A pay and display car park is located outside the Civic Centre reception (BH15 2RU - limited spaces available)

Free on-road parking is available on Whitecliff Road, Sherwood Avenue and some surrounding roads (10 minutes’ walk to Civic Centre Annexe)

The pedestrian entrance is accessed via Sandbanks Road (opposite a blue and white house) and is signposted 'Learning and Development' (no delegate parking available)

Event Description ** CLOSED EVENT FOR BCP STAFF ONLY **

This HALF-DAY session is for START staff who HAVE attended a practical session in the past.

This training compliments the half day Rapid Induction Moving & Handling Theory module which also needs to be attended (before or after this session) to enable a full certificate to be issued

This is a face to face event training event. On the day of the training delegates will need to:

* Provide evidence of a negative COVID test within the last 24 hours (confirmation text etc)
* Take care to follow any Covid 19 controls in place in the building
* Bring face coverings which may be requested in close contact situations
* Bring along their own hot/cold drinks and hand gel

Course aims:

To renew competence in moving and handling practices
To enable provider to comply with moving and handling regulations
To refresh employees regarding legislation and handling equipment 
Event Outcomes By the end of the session participants will:

Be able to interpret moving and handling-related legislation and recognise their responsibility

Have an awareness of moving and handling in the context of Human Rights Act and Equality Act

Be able to apply the components of risk assessment

Have an awareness of unsafe techniques

Apply the safe moving and handling principles

Demonstrate the ability to use moving and handling equipment correctly
