Event Description FREE Autism Awareness Training (Level 1) for all Adult Social Care staff working in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

Course Aims: To gain an awareness of what autism is and how to support people with autism in a person-centred way.

This course will be delivered via Zoom/MS Teams. A Zoom/MS Teams training link email will be sent out to confirmed delegates a few days before the course starts. The link will be emailed to the email address that is on their CPD Online account. If the link needs to be emailed to a different email address please include this in the ‘special requirements' box when requesting a place.

If confirmed delegates have not received the Zoom/MS Teams training link email before 30 minutes of the advertised start time please contact sctraining@bcpcouncil.gov.uk

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
* The 3 attachments provide important information for delegates accessing this training and are helpful to read prior to booking.
* Confirmed delegates need to allow enough time (at least 15 mins) to log on to Zoom/MS Teams to be ready for the course to start promptly at 9:30am when it will be locked. Due to BCP policy and time limitations - late arrivals will not be able to join the session.
*If a confirmed delegate does not have the necessary IT equipment to participate fully, is late logging on to a session or is unable to participate on the day (please cancel booking on CPD Online), we will ask them to rebook on a future date.

Recognise how an autistic person can be overwhelmed and how to make reasonable adjustments.
Identify the importance of working in a person-centred way.
