Please note: First Aid training has now returned to face to face delivery.

COVID SAFE CONTROLS - The training provider Cracking First Aid will maintain Covid-19 controls in accordance with current government guidance.A document confirming these controls will be sent with the booking confirmation email.

The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) consists of two units:

1. Unit 1 - Emergency First Aid in the Workplace (EFAW)

2. Unit 2 - Recognition and Management of illness and injury in the Workplace

The course is run over 3 consecutive days at the venue shown below.

**Important ** We will require the following two documents to be submitted to health.safety@bcpcouncil.gov.uk before your place can be confirmed.1/ LEARNER REGISTRATION FORM . This will be sent to you on receipt of your booking request. A valid cost code must be provided on the form for recharge. (Non attendance may be charged following consideration of the reason for non attendance)2/ A CURRENT FIRST AID NEEDS ASSESSMENT for your Team/Area. Exception - If having this training is a part of your role this will not be required. Please confirm this in the special requirements section when booking.If required you should be named on this document with confirmation of the type of qualification.Please obtain the assessment and cost code from your line manager. Information on this form is available on the intranet.PHOTOGRAPHIC ID is required for certification purposes - this may be your Council ID badge or other forms of photo identification.A COPY OF YOUR CURRENT CERTIFICATE is required by the training provider. If we hold a copy on file this will be forwarded on your behalf. You will be advised if we do not hold a copy.The total course cost will range from £81 per delegate to £121.25 depending on the number of delegates booking a place. Max 12 min 8.Should insufficient bookings be received the course may be cancelled.Details of access to the venue and facilities are shown in the event notes section below.
 
Event Outcomes Session 1- Emergency First Aid in the workplace
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
assess an incident
provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding or minor injuries
provide first aid to a casualty who is:-
unresponsive
choking
in shock
Session 2 - Recognition and management of illness and injury in the workplace
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
conduct a secondary survey
provide first aid to a casualty with:-
suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints
suspected head and spinal injuries
suspected chest injuries
burns and scalds
an eye injury
sudden poisoning
anaphylaxis
suspected major illness

Event Notes Parking is available in the multistorey car park adjacent to the Civic Centre. Please access the Cattistock Room via the Members Entrance at the right end of the building, not the main reception. Please bring your own lunch and refreshments. You will have access to a drink vending machine (70p per cup), a kitchen area and nearby shops.
