Event Description *SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES ONLY*

One day theory course to introduce the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® philosophy, and where required, some early Physical Interventions.

The course is designed for personnel employed in social care who are required to support individuals who may present with challenging behaviour 
Event Outcomes Delegates will have acquired sufficient skills and knowledge to implement the PROACT-SCIPr- UK® philosophy when supporting individuals in their care
Learners will be able to:
* Describe how behaviour serves a purpose for the individual
* Describe the core principles and values of person-centred approaches
* Describe approaches to effective communication when supporting
individuals
* Describe the positive behaviour support framework
* Apply the principles of PBS to the people they support
* Discuss the key legal aspects and apply to the PBS process
* Have an understanding of the rationale for changes in service position
* Demonstrate how they consider the impact of equality and diversity on the development of person centred planning
* Fulfil the assessment criteria when demonstrating physical interventions
* Demonstrate the importance of keeping accurate records and their role in safeguarding individuals.

Event Notes This interactive training is offered via MS Teams and can be accessed from an online device at work or from home. The following is required to participate fully in this session: * An online device (with web cam/speakers/mic) plus a reliable broadband/wi-fi connection * Access to Teams * A quiet area * A link will be e-mailed directly to the delegate to enable them join the session * A notebook and pen Delegates will need to click on the link at least 15 mins prior to the start time so the course can start promptly
