Event Description 2 sessions - attendance at both is essential
We take a look at the newer classification and the broad spectrum of difficulties that you may see in the classroom. We discuss ideas of how to help these children to move forwards in their motor skills and in so doing improve performance in the classroom. We will distinguish between those with a DCD diagnosis and those whose profiles are more as a result of our society and way of living today.

Session 2 :
We will talk more in depth about the specific foundation motor skills that need to be firmly embedded for success at school. We will give you lots of ideas to use with your children, this will include a ready written programme called 6 for 6, that can help improve handwriting without practising writing and can be used both at home and school. We will look at a concept we call the Rainbow programme, and we will show you some ready resources available for settings e.g. Storycises which combines the practice of foundation motor skills within the curriculum.
