A pay and display car park is located outside the Civic Centre reception (BH15 2RU - limited spaces available)

Free on-road parking is available on Whitecliff Road, Sherwood Avenue and some surrounding roads (10 minutes’ walk to Civic Centre Annexe)

The pedestrian entrance is accessed via Sandbanks Road (opposite a blue and white house) and is signposted 'Learning and Development' (no delegate parking available)

Event Description ***We run our events in a variety of locations, please refer to the venue information and attached map***

This practical basic life support course will equip care staff with the skills to provide immediate, but temporary first aid in emergency situations. The course includes CPR, the recovery position, using an automated external defibrillator and dealing with someone who is choking.

This is a requirement of The Care Certificate and is recommended for all care staff

A health check questionnaire is attached – please complete and bring with you on the day

Comfortable clothing is recommended for this session

PLEASE NOTE: Anyone wishing to become a First Aider in the Workplace will need to attend a 'First Aid at Work' course

If your organisation's terms of payment require a purchase order, please enter the PO number in the box marked ‘Special requirements' when making your booking

We will charge a full course fee for any booked delegate who gives less than seven calendar days' notice of a cancellation, or who does not attend on the day of the course

- Demonstrate a primary survey (DRABC)
- Demonstrate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Demonstrate how to deal with a choking casualty 
Course Cost £ 30 
Event Charges Notes The course fee for non-Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council staff is £30 per delegate. The course is subsidised for staff in BCP Adult Social Care Services and Adult Social Care Commissioning. The course fee for other BCP service units is £30 per delegate
