Event Description This one-day course aims to focus on safe practice of moving and transferring in the workplace, practically enhancing individuals' skills and confidence. This will include practical assessments.
Delegates are required to observe guidance regarding suitable clothing (see separate guidance document).
Lunch is not provided on this course.

We will charge a full course fee for any booked delegate who gives less than seven calendar days' notice of a cancellation, or who does not attend on the day of the course. 
Event Outcomes By the end of the session participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of the legislation
which applies to moving and handling.
- Demonstrate the correct four basic principles of M&H
Apply these principles to safely;
- Move an inanimate object
- Pick up an empty box
- Use a profiling bed
- Roll a resident in bed
- Use the slide sheets for moving a resident up the bed (supine slide)
- Help a resident to standing from sitting.
- Use the rota stand.
- Use the stand aid.
- Use the hoist.
- Discuss the actions to take when a person falls.
