Event Description This two day course raises awareness and understanding of attachment issues in a practical way, empowering practitioners to engage with children, young people and their families to support them in building positive attachments, self-esteem and resilience. Once completed the candidate is able to go onto the Level 2 ‘Attachment Parenting Programme'.

Available for all Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole practitioners at the subsidised rate, who work with children, young people and their families to improve their outcomes: Including Private, Voluntary and Independent sector, Schools, Health and Local Authority staff.
Limited to 2 practitioners per organisation, (more than this number may register to be included on the waiting list and will be offered a place numbers permitting.)

Subsidised Cost: £20 Subsidised by the Bournemouth Workforce Development Programme. (full course cost would have been £125)

Event Outcomes By the end of the Event, participants will have had the opportunity to learn about and explore:-
• practical and effective advice about what children & young people need to navigate their way through life
• understanding and awareness around issues of attachment and resilience
• practical skills to develop and build attachment and resilience in children, young people and their parents
• understanding of brain development and the practical implications
• the interface between ‘nature & nurture' and ‘attachment & resilience'
• practical skills about how to build a secure base for a child or young person
• understand what ‘Attachment Focused Parenting' involves and how to develop practises in this area
• build knowledge about practise strategies that will encourage self esteem and resilience
